Welcome to Franklinton
Welcome to the Town of Franklinton. Town Hall, with all of
its services, is readily accessible to you on this website. It
is our goal to develop a comprehensive and valuable resource for
anyone seeking information about our Town. The staff at Town
Hall is always eager to assist you. We strive to make
Franklinton a wonderful place to live, to raise a family, and to
do business.
Franklinton is located in Washington Parish approximately 70
miles north of New Orleans. Although we're one of the fastest
growing communities on the Northshore, we still offer a
small town way of living. Larger cities are just a few miles
away. Come visit our downtown shops and eat at our local
restaurants to enjoy real country cooking. Our friendly
residents will make you feel right at home.
Franklinton is home to the Washington Parish Fair each October.
It’s considered to be the largest free fair in the country and
offers something for people of all ages. Bring a canoe or a tube
and take a trip down the scenic Bogue Chitto River or visit the
Historic Varnado Store Museum. Franklinton has 10 houses and
buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Whether you plan to visit, raise a family or retire here,
Franklinton is a great place that will meet your needs. We hope
this site helps you learn more about Franklinton and everything
it has to offer. If you have more questions don’t hesitate to
contact us. We hope you’ll visit us soon and enjoy everything
Franklinton has to offer you!
