Franklinton's Mayor's Court is vested with jurisdiction over misdemeanor traffic summonses, misdemeanor arrests and summonses for violations of the Town of Franklinton Code of Ordinances issued by the Franklinton Police Department. A magistrate presides over court proceedings.Mayor's Court convenes the second Monday of each month in the Town Hall chambers at 9 AM. The Magistrate/Judge for Mayor's Court is Commissioner Dan Foil.
Commissioner Foil is a native of Franklinton, LA and graduated from Franklinton High School in 1970. He attended college for two years before going to work in the private sector. He returned to college at Louisiana State University in 1982 and received a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 1985. He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the LSU Law Center in December, 1988. He joined the Louisiana Bar Association in 1999.
